24 Weeks.
We have reached another milestone in pregnancy: viability day. From here on out if Baby Mayes were to come early doctors would do everything to save her. Starting at 24 weeks she has chances of surviving. Of course those chances grow significantly over the next several weeks, but this is still a big milestone.

23 Weeks.
23 weeks and Baby Mayes is now the size of a grapefruit. She can now hear loud sounds like the dogs barking - which is good since she'll hear a lot of that for years to come. She should also start responding and moving when she hears my voice or Bryan's.
This last week we got a lot done in the nursery (thanks to my mom's help). The crib is ready. Curtains are up. Some of the wall decor is up. I will post pictures soon.
I've also been sick, though. Being pregnant makes being sick that much worse. Sneezing and coughing hurt. Luckily, I had lots of time to rest since I was in Texas with my mom. I don't think I would have been able to babysit at all feeling the way I did. I really need to figure out how much longer I'll be able to babysit in general, because it's going to get much harder the bigger my bump becomes. Something Bryan and I will figure out I'm sure.

21 Weeks and We're Having a Girl!
Well, we found out at our anatomy scan this week that we are having a baby girl! Bryan and I are both very excited and have already bought a couple girl outfits (surprise surprise). We even have her name chosen, but we are keeping it a secret until she arrives. We actually were set on a girl name from the time we found out we were expecting. But this way we still have something to surprise everyone with.
At 21 weeks, we are officially halfway there. Baby Mayes is now the size of a pomegranate. At the sonogram she was actually weighing about 14oz and measuring three days ahead of what our due date suggests which is normal. And all the other measurements they took during the scan looked great as well.
We also started registering this week now that we know what we are having, which is a lot of fun to do. There is so much fun baby stuff and it's all so exciting. I don't think anything else will be as exciting as when she gets here though, because finding out her gender was definitely one of the top moments of our lives.
20 Weeks and 5 days.
