29 Weeks.

Just 11 weeks left (unless she chooses to stay in my belly longer than her due date). At 29 weeks, Baby M is the size of an acorn squash. She is plumping up but still will triple in weight before she is born. She throws a dance party every night and gets the hiccups multiple times a day. With her running out of room, it is easy to tell where she is when she's moving - or even sleeping. Her hiccups are even visible sometimes.

It's been incredibly hot lately and that's making me more uncomfortable. The heat also means chiggers are out and about. The dogs and I are being attacked. I've discovered that having a really itchy bug bite on my baby bump is far from fun.

This week was also my last week of babysitting. Between having a bigger bump and having troubles getting up and down, it was getting hard to watch an infant who loves to be picked up and snuggled. I was really sad this was my last week, but I know that I need to be comfortable and not push myself too hard - especially with it being so hot out.

In an unrelated update, every time we go to take my weekly picture Otis sits at my feet. However, when we try to get a cute picture of him he moves away. I thought this one was pretty cute though since Baby M is in it as well.

27 Weeks and 28 Weeks.

I am obviously behind on updating. It's just been a busy couple of weeks.

At 27 weeks. we finally entered the third trimester. With that, though, came new symptoms. Okay, not entirely new, it's like the first trimester all over again but worse. I have morning sickness again. I'm exhausted all the time. I can't sleep at all, which is partially due to insomnia and partially due to not being able to get comfy with a bump and a baby that throws a dance party every night. I also have developed horrible, horrible heartburn every day (maybe she'll have a full head of hair!) and my ribs are really starting to hurt from everything growing and expanding. I also have migraines often again. Going into 28 weeks it was just getting worse. I'm sure it'll be a fun few more months.

My rings are also officially off. With it being summer in Kansas it's become harder to get them on and off, so they are on a necklace now. I'm hoping I can get them on for our maternity pictures but otherwise they'll stay on my necklace until after Baby M is born I'm sure.

I also recently had to endure glucose testing to determine if I had gestational diabetes. I failed the one hour test that they give first, so I then had to do a fasting three hour test. I passed that one (yay!), but it was not fun at all. I felt hungover all day after not eating for almost 16 hours and drinking the glucose drink.

In a milestone unrelated to pregnancy, Bryan and I also recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary on June 11. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen, which is where we had our rehearsal dinner. We also finally got to enjoy our cake topper. The inside was delicious, but the icing had a funky taste which was due to a problem we had with our freezer awhile back - no fault of the baker. We even let both dogs have one bite of cake.

26 Weeks.

It's the last week of the second trimester. Woo! Baby Mayes is now the size of a head of lettuce. I am starting to have days where I just plain feel pregnant. I get achy, hot, tired, don't feel like doing anything (thus no make up in the picture). All of the above. I still love it, though. And it's a good excuse to just sit and relax most days. I (obviously) cut about 6 inches off my hair. It has gotten so thick from pregnancy that it was getting annoying and hot, so I went for a change. Plus it will be easier to take care of now when Baby Mayes makes her arrival.

I finally took pictures of the nursery to share. We still have a few things to do and there will be additions post-baby shower I'm sure. Bryan and I have decided it's our favorite room in the house now.

This is the view of the nursery when you walk in (yes, the dogs have their own bed in the nursery).

We are going to use the dresser as the changing table so it's a little bare right now. Some of the fabrics in the embroidery hoops are fabrics in a quilt my mom is making for Baby Mayes.

Her crib and mobile. We will be putting a monogram  above her crib, but that will have to wait until she is here and her name is revealed.

Our comfy glider. It had to be "dad" approved by Bryan so he had a hand in picking it out.

Thanks to Baby Mayes' grandmas, she already has some books on her bookshelves.

25 Weeks.

At 25 weeks, Baby Mayes is now about the size of a bush of cauliflower. She should be weighing about two pounds; however, if she kept on track from our last ultrasound she is probably a little heavier than that. She is getting more on a schedule as far as when she is moving the most and sleeping. Her movements are very visible from the outside now. Some days it looks like she's doing gymnastics in my belly.

This last week Baby M's Grandma Sandy (Bryan's mom) got to join me at my monthly appointment to hear the heartbeat. It was amazing to share that with her. Baby M even let her Grandma feel her move.

In the next few weeks she is supposed to go through quite the growth spurt so my belly should be popping out even more!
